Something is blocking internet access

Something is blocking the internet signal MyToneCreator needs to send. It could be the Windows built in firewall, a third party firewall, antivirus software or some other program. Check your settings on any of these applications to allow MyToneCreator to connect to the Internet.

I disabled my firewall and I still can't connect
Please check any software or hardware applications that might be preventing the MyToneCreator from conecting to the internet. Windows XP has its own firewall, or a network card might also have a firewall enabled.

Data server error/ Proxy error
Data Server errors are generally related to connectivity problems between cell/towers and your provider. Make sure you have strong signals and aren't sending during peak tower traffic in your area.

I want to send ringtones to more than one phone. Can I get another serial number?
We currently do not have an offer to add multiple phones to the Ringtone maker software. There are plans to do this in the near future, but we don't have an offer in place yet.

Page 502 cannot be displayed/ Bad gateway
Check if your information in the "Settings menu". See How do I edit my Settings?
If the information in the "settings menu" is entered correctly, then this is usually an error of trying to send a ringtone that exceeds the available memory in your phone. Try resending a smaller clip, no more than 10 seconds in length and see if that works. Gradually work your way up to a larger ringtone, and be sure and delete any unused tones on your phone to free up memory.

I’m not receiving a text message/my ringtone.
  Please confirm:
1. You selected your phone carrier in the MyToneCreator application settings
2. You entered your phone number correctly
3. You have text messaging and data services (internet) enabled for your phone.
Additionally, depending on the time of the day, your carrier might be slow delivering a text message – so please be patient.

Why can't I see my songs in my iTunes music folder?
MyToneCreator does not see AAC / M4A files on the PC, although it does on the Mac. MyToneCreator does not work with files that are digital rights-protected (DRM) files, and this means that songs you purchased from the iTunes store will not work with MyToneCreator. On the PC, you will need to convert your AAC files into MP3. Your iTunes help files explain how to do this.

I'm sending a ringtone, the application says ‘network connect’ but then nothing happens.
It may be that the server was busy. Try sending your ringtone again.

I paid for MyToneCreator but in the window still says that it is in trial mode.
Make sure to check your order confirmation email to ensure you have correctly put in the Serial Number we sent you. Please note that the serial number must be entered in caps. Also double-check that you entered the same phone number in the Settings that you entered when you purchased.

How do I register the application - it says “register.” What does that mean?
Please click here to purchase a serial number. My Tone Creator will allow you to make one complete ringtone in the unregistered / "trial" mode. Purchasing a serial number and registering it will allow you to use your own music library to make an unlimited number of ringtones for $3.99/month.

I can't get the software to run?

On a Mac, the program downloads as a .sit file, so you can extract the setup file with the free utility called StuffIt.

I'm getting "Server busy" on my cell phone.
Data server or network errors are generally related to temporary connectivity problems between your cell phone and your provider's mobile network tower. The application is working correctly -now just make sure you have a strong signal and perhaps aren't sending during peak tower traffic in your area.

My ringtone doesn't sound very good.
The sound quality will primarily depend on the quality of the source audio file. In general, uncompressed audio files such as WAV or CDA (from an audio CD) will sound better than compressed (mp3, WMA, etc). The quality is also directly related to the quality of the phone's speaker. Newer phones will sound better.
