MyToneCreator lets you choose any audio you want
and then trim it to the desired length (usually about
10-20 seconds depending on your phone model and carrier).
When it's ready, simply click the "SEND"
button. MyToneCreator sends a text message to your
phone that contains a link back to your new ringtone.
Follow the link, download your ringtone, save it on
your phone and assign it as your ringer.
Supported Carriers: MyToneCreator supports most
major carriers including ATT, T-Mobile, Cingular,
Sprint PCS, Bell Canada, Cellular One, Rogers ATT,
and FIDO. MyToneCreator does not support Verizon,
as their network limits the size of the file, which
only allows for a 3-5 second ringtone.
Supported Phones: Your phone must have internet and
text messaging enabled and be capable of playing true
tone, real music ringtones. MyToneCreator supports
over 100 phones. A complete list can be seen here.
You can test your phone by typing www.MyToneCreator.com
on your mobile browser, or click here. New phones
come out every quarter and we are always working to
support the latest phones. If you use a PalmOne Treo,
your phone requires a helper application called LightWav.
You can download LightWav here. If you install Lightwav
then you can send ringtones as "Supported Format
4." We are working to support Blackberries now.
If your phone or carrier is not supported, let us
know and we'll send you a phone to try it.
Important Information About Corporate Firewalls:
MyToneCreator Ringtone Maker (MyToneCreator) is
targeted to a home user and works with the vast majority
of home firewalls. It is not a corporate product,
and is not designed to be used at work. MyToneCreator
sends a text message to your phone with a link back
to the ringtone on your PC or Mac. If you find yourself
sitting behind a corporate firewall, that text message
might be blocked. You may see a message saying "trying
to connect" on your MyToneCreator screen which
then simply times out. If you see this message, your
corporate firewall is probably the cause. We know
that most home firewalls including those from Linksys,
D-Link, Microsoft, SMC, etc. are not problematic.
